Alison Newman studied four years at the American Theatre of Being, under the direction of the late Frank Silvera.  Doing theatre work, and plays with Mya Angelou, Beah Richards (nominated for Academy Award) and others who grew out of this theatre with success.
Guest-starring roles at the age of twelve, on John Forsythe television series, Love Boat.  Star of television special along with John Wayne, Valerie Harper,” Rap-Up." Regular on two national TV series. Historical TV series on
NBC "JULIA" starring Diahann Carroll. Performed as Carol Deering...and also CBS,"THE LESLIE UGGAMS SHOW", playing regular costarring role as Oletha, Leslie's hippie sister. Starred in independent film,"aint nobody slick" directed by husband, the late Francisco Toscono Newman, about the struggles of Angela Davis. A film documentary/drama.  Executive producer, co-writer, co-star of "VIRGIN AGAIN" ninety minute feature film about the woman caught in adultery, encountering Christ in the present-urban setting.  Author of "The Confessions of St. Augustine" a play written about the life of St.Augustine, produced at the Perris Community Theatre, in Perris California.  Author of the book, "Franciscio" a recommended reading list on the New York Times. This book was included in the classes of professors at Columbia, and UCLA, and USC. This book can be studied and learned about by reading an article written by UCLA professor, Harriet Mullen (look up Harriet Mullen, on the internet for more information)This professor interviewed Francisco Toscono Newman before he passed, and wrote an essay comparing Ntsokae Shange to the writing of ALison Mills.  Alison Mills Newman, poet, writer, mother of five children, ordained minister of the gospel and more...   

 

Tune in Thursday November 10^th,  and catch special guests Filmmaker Michael Marks “Angel of Hate.”  A native of Atlanta, Georgia Michael Marks has lived in southern California for nearly seven years.  His interest in filmmaking began while he was still in high school.  After graduating from Westlake High School, Michael enrolled at Georgia State University and in 1995 received the Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications (Film and Video).  Two weeks after graduating from GSU, Michael went to work as a staff/production assistant on the feature film “Rosewood.”  Writing “Angel of Hate” soon after, Michael is seeking distribution for his touching feature film.  The Gibbs twins, Award Winning Animators/Filmmakers/Directors Shawnee Gibbs and Shawnelle Gibbs “Adopted By Aliens.”  These two Oakland natives, San Francisco State Cinema graduates have written and produced several short films that have screened and won awards at festivals throughout the United States. The two have contributed to projects for BET, MTV, Bravo and NBC since their move to Los Angeles last year. These two have been collaborating on projects ever since they were children.  They have written and directed several short films and animations including the Award-Winning, “Ravishing Raspberry.”  Shawnee and Shawnelle are currently working on their animated web series, Adopted By Aliens. The sisters are also writing a live-action feature screenplay they're just calling "Funny" for now.  The Gibbs sisters’ ultimate goal is to write and direct for both the big and small screen.   Bi-Coastal up and coming Actor Richard Chew “Law and Order: Trial By Jury,” and “As The World Turns,” is here in California all the way from New York.  Catch all our special guests Thursday November 10^th  at 7:30PM kicking off in the Hollywood area.  “The Sand Creek Massacre”, who’s flying in from Centennial, Colorado to be with us.  Donald L. Vasicek studied producing, directing and line producing at the Hollywood Film Institute under the renowned Dov Simens and at Robert Redford’s Sundance Institute.  He studied screenwriting at The Complete Screenplay, Inc., with Sally Merlin, daughter of the famed Hollywood Merlin family of screenwriters and writers, as his mentor. He has taught, mentored, and is a script consultant for over 300 writers, directors, producers, and production companies.  He has also acted in NBC’s Mystery of Flight 1501, 20th Century's Die Hard 2 starring Bruce Willis, ABC’s Father Dowling starring Thomas Bosley, and Red-Handed Productions’ Summer Reunion. These activities have resulted in his involvement in over 100 movies during the past 23 years, from major studios to independent films including MGM’s $56 million Warriors of Virtue.   Don also has written and published over 500 books, short stories and articles.  His books include How To Write, Sell, And Get Your Screenplays Produced and The Write Focus.  He has been a guest screenwriting and filmmaking columnist for Hollywood Lit. Sales, Moondance International Film Festival’s e-zine, Screenwriter’s Forum.

  Don is presently writing, directing and producing The Sand Creek Massacre, a documentary film project that includes a documentary short, a book, a classroom video, Interactive Media, a study guide, and a lesson plan, with Wes Studi (Dances With Wolves, Last of the Mohicans, Geronimo: An American Legend) as host.  His short, The Sand Creek Massacre, was awarded Best Short Film of 2004 by the Philip S. Miller Library’s Bull Theatre Film Project.  The same film has also been screened in Los Angeles at the Paxico Projection Series 05, in New York at Staten Island’s Muddy Cup, Tribeca’s Monday Night Shorts, Stars in the Desert Film Festival, Denver’s Bug Theatre, Duke University’s Center for Documentary Studies, The Happening Film Festival, won Best Documentary Short at The Indie Gathering Film Festival in Cleveland and won Best Documentary Short at the American Indian Film Festival in Houston which included actor and Indian activist, Russell Means (Natural Born Killers, Dances With Wolves, Black Cloud) and Floyd “Red Crow” Westerman ( Dances With Wolves, The X-Files) and at the Colorado Filmmaker’s Showcase in the Starz Film Center in Denver.  The Sand Creek Massacre trailer was awarded The Videographer’s Awards Award of Excellence.

Melodee Crawford Women's Humorist / Motivational Speaker, of “ Perfectly Imperfect Women” also from Colorado is scheduled to appear on The Gigi, Inc Show. Melodee’s gift is making women from 20 to 70 feel good about being themselves. She is a master in working with women as a guide through their contemporary lives to help them connect with current issues that confront women. Women leave her sessions with deep insights and the ability to take actions with their femininity and the demands contemporary society places on them as women. This experience has pointed Melodee in the direction of writing her first book, Perfectly Imperfect Women. She is also shooting a tv pilot for a half-hour series to be hosted by an Emmy-nominated PBS producer and being written, produced and directed by award-winning Writer/Filmmaker, Donald L. Vasicek, recording her first CD, and setting up workshops, seminars, and conferences. Melodee brings a unique combination of gifts and experience to women. Her personal life transition experiences provide a strong base for her work. Her greatest strength resides in empowering women via her presence to church groups, professional organizations, businesses, and companies, on radio and television. Her life experience includes from birth in Buffalo, New York on November 2, 1958 to the present. Melodee graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Development. She acknowledges that her greatest teacher was the “imperfections” of her life experience. A life experience that taught her how to survive under the rigors of poverty, adoption, rape, physical and verbal abuse, broken families, parental rejection, “blinders” regarding chosen mates, suicide watch, financial / tax difficulties, domestic violence, the “imperfect” ability to carry children through full-term pregnancy, IVF, triplets, and single motherhood.

James Love Jazz Vocalist, “Invitations” is a classically trained jazz singer performing and traveling all over. Growing up in St. Louis, James discovered music at an early age, listening to the church choir along with the music of the streets. James Majored in vocal music at Lincoln University (Missouri) and earned his master’s degree in clinical psychology to enrich his experience. James Love was voted best male jazz vocalist for the Long Beach Jazz Search, and is reminiscent of Billy Eckstine and Johnny Hartman. Introducing James Love, performing on The Gigi, Inc Show. Other performance dates include November 7th from 8 to 11pm at the Wyndham Bel Age’ Hotel 1029 N. San Vicente Bl., West L.A.

I am a California native. My family moved to Florida when I was young
and I grew up there on the West Coast. I always enjoyed helping others,
and decided my career path would be that of a nurse. I spent several
years working in the nursing profession, and relocated to California.
About four years ago, I was approached about doing some modeling/print
work. I signed with an agency and began going on commercial and print
auditions. Several months later, my legendary acting coach Vincent
Chase, called me about a casting in a short indie film. After
completion of this, I contemplated making acting a career. I began to
take more classes, and learned more about acting. I've recently
completed my 6th episode of Untold Stories of the ER.

I believe wholeheartedly in networking. To date, I have enjoyed meeting
many industry professionals. I have had the pleasure of meeting and
networking with the multi-talented Gigi Iam, and Kirk Twyman. I really
feel at home, and appreciated when I'm in their company, and have met
many genuine and helpful people within their organizations. I am very
thankful to be part of an organization that is out to make a
difference. Thank you Gigi, and Kirk and I wish everyone much continued
success.
