About Mrs. Love (pictured above): She wasn't a school athlete, nor was she a dancer, and her grades in elementary school were just pretty average, but music made a difference. At the tender age of 5, she started piano lessons. Beginning the violin in 3^rd grade at Raymond Ave Elementary School in Los Angeles, she remembers how special it felt to do something special, beyond the academics that every student did in class.

A rise in confidence and self-esteem, improvement in math and reading skills and for that matter all subjects, coordination, poise and performance were the results of this childs life that had been ignited, along now with a thirst for higher achievements was set ablaze in her life. This same girl grew up and graduated some years later, Magna Cum Laude, from Azusa Pacific University, became an elementary teacher, an entrepreneur, a recording artist, and CEO of JLMS.

"There are marvelous advantages to music education in the curriculum. Music offers unique strengths in the overall education of todays youth. Music has a pedagogy that has been proven to develop the areas of reading, math, language, and comprehensive skills. Studies of instrumental music in schools have shown a marked increase in overall scholastic achievement", says Mrs. Love.

The public demands better schools and safer streets but won't approve taxes to pay for those services. The parents love their children but leave them alone to watch hours of television unsupervised, eating more and growing obese. The dropout rate for African-American males in metropolitan areas is well over 50 percent. Juvenile incarceration for black youth, the rate is more than three times as high as for whites. More African-American males receive their GED's in prison than graduate from college.

Gigi Iam interviews the Legendary Lenny Williams born Leonard Charles Williams.

During the 1970s, he was the lead vocalist for Tower of Power. As a soloist, he made several hit recordings, including "Cause I Love You". Williams moved to Oakland, California at a very young age. Learning to play the trumpet in elementary school fueled his interest in music; his skills as a vocalist were first nurtured by singing in gospel choirs and groups around the Bay Area. He worked with several notable artists, such as Sly Stone, Andra頍 Crouch, Billy Preston and members of the Hawkins family, Edwin, Walter and Tremaine. Williams shares how he got his start, winning talent shows and writing hit songs.
